Blue Jacket and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art (FWMoA) are partnering to bring to life the 2nd annual Second Chances Art Exhibit. This unique fundraiser has a goal to exhibit real stories of the trials, failures, and successes of Blue Jacket clients and how they are earning their second chance at a life and career. These stories are told through a variety of mediums. Artists are selected through a nomination and voting process, making this exhibit a coveted opportunity. Artists are able to showcase their work with other local artists and be targeted in their philanthropy.
FWMoA is graciously hosting this event, allowing all proceeds from the event to fund the Career Academy (a two-week training program that helps any adult seeking a second chance at employment). The goal in 2017 is to graduate 300 adults and achieve a 90% employment rate, as experienced in 2016.
Artists develop relationships with their clients in order to tell their stories, a daunting and exhilarating experience. They are commissioned to portray significant life events of our fellow citizens who have fallen and stood back up. They shine a light on success, triumph, and hope regained.
